Dean Brown (August 19, 1955 - January 26, 2024) was one of the most sought-after guitarists in the world of jazz, fusion, and contemporary music. A Berklee College of Music graduate, Dean recorded and toured with Marcus Miller, The Brecker Brothers, Billy Cobham, David Sanborn, Bob James, George Duke, Roberta Flack, Joe Zawinul, and Steve Smith's Vital Information. His guitar work appears on over 200 recordings including four Grammy Award winners. Dean's television appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Arsenio Hall Show, and numerous international broadcasts. He also taught at Musicians Institute in Hollywood for many years. Known for his powerful rhythm guitar work and passionate melodic soloing, Dean blended Rock, Jazz, Latin, Funk, and Fusion into a joyful, soulful groove. He released five celebrated solo albums and remained a beloved educator and performer until his passing.
