I am only just starting to dig into this book but it is already answering some of the questions I had from Tim’s Truefire courses (which are also excellent by the way). It looks like it will be a fantastic resource and will keep me occupied for many months/years. Tim has a wonderful gift of being able to present techniques and ideas using examples and exercises that are a joy to play. Which means practicing is enjoyable, and not a chore. With all the included background material (videos, backing tracks, etc) the book is an absolute bargain at the price.

This is the review I left on Amazon:
I have to say “Thank You” to Tim Lerch for this book. I own practically all of his Truefire courses, which are treasures in themselves, but his Melodic Blues Guitar Soloing is just it for me. It is the best of both worlds. Having grown up in an analog world, I just love the printed word. Together with all the audio and video material that comes with the book it is a perfect combination. Not to speak of Tim’s approach, which is unique, too.
I have only spent an afternoon with the book yet, but I can already say that I definitely will work my way through it and all the material. Wish I had had that book and all the files when I was sixteen, but now at the age of 72 I still can get just as excited.
Highly recommended and for what you get a bargain to boot!
